As far as I know, there is no woman who doesn’t love her shoes. As much as we love to buy bags or clothing, shoes will never be forgotten. Whether we buy a bag or a blouse, the following thought is whether we have the matching shoes to wear with the new bag and blouse. In the end, we usually end up having shoes for every occasion in every of our favorite color.

Now, while some women like to wear high heels, some other women love their shoes comfortable. No wonder that when we are going to the malls, there are many very stylish yet very comfortable shoes such as Dansko shoes and clogs that can call themselves bestsellers. It is the latest trend anyway. Why? Let’s just say that we women, who used to think about appearance above anything else, start to also think about being comfort and healthy. To handle the entire situation very well, there is a leadership program that is especially developed for women.

This women’s leadership program (wlp), as legacy of Elizabeth J Somers, is part of George Washington University. It explores issues relative to women’s leadership, its nature, its expressions, and its exercise in various intellectual, artistic, social, political, and technological contexts. This wlp is an intellectual program with four different approaches or areas of study: arts and culture, economics, politics, and science. Besides some seminars designed to provide knowledge about, and experience in, leadership, this program also offers guest speakers, special events, and field experiences that bring the students together with women of achievement and leadership from many areas.

After taking this wlp program, it is hoped that women will be ready to overcome any obstacles and will be able to achieve whatever they dream of and in whatever career path they choose.

Last week I went to Florida on some work assignments that I needed to attend to. Since the meeting was on Friday, and I really never had been to Florida before, I decided to stay for the whole weekend down there. Now, since I’m one of those women who love shopping more than anything else, what I was looking for were some grand shopping malls that I could explore. There might be some sales or any discounted items that I could get my hands on them. When I asked around the office, one of my friends suggested me to check out some mall directory site. The mall directory that I used can give me various of information, from shopping mall directory all over the country, shopping news, promotional items (including some coupons and vouchers), to social networking. More interestingly, they have mall finder, coupon finder, and shopping buddies. Sounds promising, right?

Here was what I did. I just used the mall finder to look for the grandest shopping mall in Gainesville, Florida, and I found out that there is a super regional shopping mall just around my hotel area called The Oaks Mall. The Oaks Mall has the major chains like Macy’s, J.C. Penney, Sears,  and Dillard’s, along with numerous designer outlets such as bebe, Coach, Belk, Banana Republic, Ann Taylor, and many others. Some stores for youth generation are also available, such as American Eagle, Hollister, Aeropostale, Abercrombie & Fitch, Hot Topic, and Buckle. I remembered to think that this was exactly what I was looking for; one place where I could just get my hands on anything I wanted. Were there any stores or department stores that offered big sales or any other special discounts? We could also check them out in that mall directory site, as well as find some coupons for those special offers.

When I was in Florida and went to that mall, it was like that I was already familiar with the mall and could go around find the best deals without too much difficulty. Now, that was what I called great shopping experience.

When we were opening cake shop, preparing for the promotion displays and decoration of the shop is as important as preparing for the products. The promo displays will tell people what we want to offer them as well as other information, including the pictures and prices. The good thing is that nowadays there are many plastic products companies that also provide a wide range of great acrylic displays.

The first promo display that came to my mind at that preparation and planning period is of course the poster holders. Since I like big colorful posters with great pictures of food on them, I would need some great poster holders that will be able to hold them for a long time. From experiences, whatever the poster materials used, the posters’ color will just fade in a couple of months. So, hopefully acrylic poster holders will last longer than those other display methods. The next displays I would need are the menu. I had seen several shops and restaurants that use acrylic sign holders and they looked great and neat, so I would also like to use them. In addition, if we wanted to change the content of the menu or posters, we can just replace the old ones with the new ones easily. Anyway, these plastic products turn out to be great, neat, and durable.
